Meet Our Principal and ALC Director

My name is Chris Meisch and I consider it an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to serve as the DC High School in my seventh-year as Principal. I have been in education for over 25 years in which I have been afforded the opportunity to be a Coach, Teacher, Dean of Students, Assistant Principal and a Lead Principal.

My educational background includes an Undergraduate Degree from the University of Wisconsin LaCrosse, a Masters Degree from Saint Mary's University, a Principal & Superintendent License from Saint Cloud State, and a Human Resources Certificate from the University of Minnesota. I currently reside in Darwin, MN with my wife Chelsea and our two children, Sophia and Nolan. I am extremely proud to lead and serve in such a great community and school district.

My name is Jon Nelson.

I am in my 32nd year of teaching in ALC's and in my 18th year as the DC Area Learning Center Director.  I have two older sons who attended and graduated from D.C.

During the day, I teach Social Studies classes at the ALC.  I am also the ALC/High School work experience coordinator and night school director/teacher.

I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with and build relationships with our students and families from the DC community.
