My name is Brian Franklin and I will be returning to my 28th year in education as the ALC Lead Teacher. I have worked with all age groups of students from Pre-K through Master's in Education level college students where I have been a teacher, coach, administrator, and adjunct professor. Working with students at all levels for their success is something I am passionate about in education and life. It is always fun to watch students excel in their gifts and passions in the classrooms as they learn and grow!
My wife is a 2nd grade teacher at Dassel Elementary and coaches cross country and softball. Our oldest daughter is a 2024 graduate of DCHS and is now attending Bethel University where she plans to pursue a degree in communication and works as a tour guide and in the university BUILD program. Our son will be a senior this year and participates in football, track and field, DECA and FFA. Our youngest will be finishing up her 8th grade year at DCMS and participates in cross country, basketball, track and field, and musicals. They all have enjoyed their time and learning opportunities here at our DC schools!
During the day I teach English classes at the ALC and work with several of the students who are enrolled in the DC work program opportunity. At night, I am also the ALC Night School Lead Teacher and coordinator for students enrolled in our ALC Night School programs.
I am incredibly blessed to be back, with the opportunity to work alongside and build meaningful connections with the amazing students and families who are part of the transformative journey through the DC ALC programs!
